Clearwater Beach is located in Pinellas County, Florida, and is part of the Tampa Bay metro area. Clearwater Beach is the northernmost city on the Pinellas County barrier islands. Popular St Pete Beach neighborhoods include Sand Key, Island Estates, and Mandalay. Bridges connect Clearwater Beach to Belleair Beach and the City of Clearwater. As of 2007, the population was around 7,000. It is one of the most popular beaches in the country and attracts visitors from all over the world. Tourist favorites include Pier 60, parasailng, dophin watch cruises, and the Clearwater Marine Aquarium on Island Estates - home to world famous "Winter" the dolphin.

Clearwater Beach is undergoing a major transformation with the addition of Beach Walk, which includes beachfront bike paths, shops, dining, and luxury hotels, all overlooking the white sand and Gulf of Mexico. Geography and Climate
Clearwater Beach is a barrier island connected to Clearwater by the Memorial Causeway. Another bridge connect the island to Sand Key. There are marinas and boat ramps to accommodate boaters. In fact the city marina is home to the largest commercial fishing fleet on the central gulf coast. Clearwater's mild winters attract many northerners and "snowbirds". Clearwater is located on the Pinellas Peninsula, so the climate is affected by the Gulf of Mexico and Tampa Bay. In the winter, it is warmer on the Pinellas Peninsula then on mainland Florida.
