BayWalk Goes On The Auction Block

BayWalk, a 130,000-square-foot retail and entertainment complex in downtown St Pete is set to be sold at a foreclosure auction on February 13th. BayWalk includes a variety of shops and restaurants along with a 20-screen Muvico theater. It opened in November 2000 and is popular with nearby Tropicana Field visitors.

Judge Oks Trump Tower Foreclosure

A Tampa bankruptcy judge has ruled that Colonial Bank can proceed with its foreclosure against the riverfront project in Tampa. Trump Tower was going to be the areas tallest skyscraper with million dollar plus condos, but couldn’t get fianancing. The bank is owed $3.5-million by developer SimDag LLC, who filed for bankruptcy in 2008, halting the foreclosure action. The 1.5-acre property, which SimDag said is worth at least $15-million, could be seized or auctioned by the bank as part of the foreclosure.

Westin Hotel Will Open For Super Bowl

The Westin Tampa Bay Airport Hotel will open Jan. 22 in time for Super Bowl XLIII and two months ahead of schedule. The 16 story hotel will have 255 rooms and a 5 level parking garage. Impact Properties, owner of the hotel, expects to host a grand opening in April. The Westin Tampa Bay Airport Hotel is located at Rocky Point on the Courtney Campbell Causeway. It will feature the Aquaknox restaurant, the rooftop bar Blu Vu and a Starbucks.
