Clearwater Beach Condo Project On Hold

The $200 million Marquesas condo project has been put on hold by developer JMC Communities as a result of the soft condo market.

The two tower project was scheduled to have 142 condos and 6 penthouses ranging in cost from about $800,000 to $3-million.
In a May 7 letter to buyers, JMC announced it was postponing Marquesas offering buyers a choice of unsold condos in its previous luxury beach front project, Sandpearl Resort which failed to sell all of it’s units. Until Marquesas is built its buyers can use the beach club at Sandpearl.

MADEIRA BEACH – Developer Joe Dagastino presented plans at ta public meeting for a $15 million, 80-room hotel at John’s Pass Village.
The hotel would be built on a 1.43-acre site on 129th Avenue currently being used as a parking lot.
The five-story, 14,244-square-foot building would face 129th Avenue with 42 parking spaces underneath at ground level. Another nine spaces would be available nearby on the property. It will have a swimming pool on the second floor and a breakfast area in the lobby. Financing has yet to be finalized. Dagostino and his partners have built other successful projects locally including La Vistana in Redington Shores, Bella Rosa on Sand Key and La Contessa in Redington Beach.
The plans must be approved by city officials, which will take at least 4 months, and construction would take between 9 and 11 months.
